The details
AI features keep moving from demos into everyday tools, and this is another step in that shift. For regular users the practical effect is simple: routine tasks get faster, while the heavy lifting happens in the cloud. Id Software has tightened its relationship with fellow shooter specialists MachineGames based on reports from studio co-director Marty Stratton, after Xbox laid off roughly half of the Doom developer's employees earlier this year.
Bottom line
- Keep your system and drivers current — most ai changes require the latest versions.
- Check settings after major updates: defaults sometimes reset without warning.
- Backup before big version jumps; it costs minutes and saves hours.
